Quote of the day

"Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality." - Michael Ellner

  1. Never heard of Michael Ellner, but he's a wise man.

  2. Sorry, but that's an absurd, conclusory, wildly unfocused statement. Can we get some examples of doctors destroying health? And enough to support the statement "doctors are destroying health" suggesting that the entire medical profession is somehow reverting to 1500s butchery?

C'mon you can do better than this. This crap makes Glenn Beck sound reasonable.

  4. Interesting quote. I am not sure about doctors, however. It seems that most physicians do want to treat people. However, the rest of the statement - although conclusory - seems spot on.

  5. More than half of all bankruptcies are due to medical bills. God forbid you get appendicitis without insurance as you will be looking a $30,000.00 bill. Then you have big pharma and many doctors dishing out pills like drug pushers. The amount of youngsters on ADD medication is horrifying. The statement about schools is 100% on the money, the same can be said about the media, government, and the majority of "chruches" which nowadays can be considered McChurch.

  6. The $30,000 bill would be from the Hospital. The hospitals are run by HMO's. HMO's are not a product of physicians, but MBA's.
Most physicians I know are in it to treat and help people.

  7. I agree wholeheartedly with the quote. My elderly mother is on Medicare, she sees her doctors frequently. They schedule her appointments regularly. They schedule her to write a prescription for medication, for physical therapy, or even an MRI. Her primary sees her for an office visit only to tell her she needs a specialist. The primary sees her twice for follow-ups, just to go over the Rx, and they keep scheduling her for regular appointments. Much of the treatment is preventive and costly for the Federal government and the taxpayer. The whole thing is a scam and nothing meaningful is being done at any of these regular examinations. Doctors claim they are required to see their patients routinely in fear that they may miss a diagnosis and face litigation and higher malpractice insurance. What a vicious and unproductive system this has become.

  8. Please substitute "Big Pharm" and "HMOs" instead of "doctors" and think your statement is spot on.

  9. the doctors are controlled by big pharma, they many may be good people but they're compartmentalized and may not realize that they are treating symptoms instead of curing and preventing because that's where the money is and what big pharma is making them do. and keeping wonder drugs like iodine and other natural remedies virtually secret because they can't be patented, so they can replace it with synthroid, the second most prescribed drug. Every mass shooter has been on psych meds, and every new drug they put out kills and mames people in trials, that's how they know of the horrible potential side effects. Not to mention, hospitals may save your life, but you'll spend the rest of it working for them to pay the bill, while even countries like Romania and Iran and other 3rd world countries far, far lower costs, even adjusted for wages and costs of living.
